6 Days Safari – Mikumi National Park and Selous Game Reserve (Now Known as Nyerere National Park)

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam, and drive to Mikumi National Park, which is approximately 6 hours from Dar es Salaam. You will arrive in Mikumi for hot lunch and then proceed with a game drive until evening, drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Full day game drives around Mikumi National Park with picnic lunch. The park is very rich in varieties of bird species and a large number of animals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalos, warthogs, wildebeests, hartebeests, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and pythons. Later on, in the evening, drive back to the camp or lodge in Mikumi for dinner and overnight.

After early morning breakfast, you drive to Selous Game Reserve, approximately 8 hours from Mikumi National Park. The drive is through some arid vegetation characterised by African Savannah and scattered acacia.

After early breakfast, depart for a full day game drive in the Selous Game Reserve, exploring the game in the surrounding areas. Picnic lunch in the mid-day, later on, return to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early morning walking safari usually starts at 6 am, or 6.30 am after first-morning tea or coffee, accompanied by an armed ranger, and it will take around 2-3 hours long. After enjoying your breakfast in the morning, check out, then begin the drive back to Dar es salaam for the drop off at your hotel or airport.
